Cynthia A. Hogan, Ph.D., is chair of the Division of Audiology in the Department of Otorhinolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota. Dr. Hogan serves as director of the Mayo Clinic Hearing Aid Program. She joined the staff of Mayo Clinic in 2007 and holds the academic rank of instructor in Otolaryngology, Mayo Clinic College of Medicine and Science.

 

Dr. Hogan earned her B.S. in speech pathology and audiology at Clarion University of Pennsylvania, graduating magna cum laude, and her M.S. in communication disorders at Pennsylvania State University. She subsequently earned her Ph.D. in audiology at Syracuse University in Syracuse, New York, where she was awarded the Doctoral Prize.

 

Dr. Hogan’s clinical interests focus on hearing loss, speech perception, and amplification, with special focus on amplification options for asymmetric and unilateral hearing loss, including bone conduction options. She has given presentations both nationally and internationally and has authored journal articles, abstracts, and other publications. She holds reviewer responsibilities for prominent scientific publications.

 

James Dornhoffer MD, is currently the senior neurotology fellow at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota.

Dr. Dornhoffer earned is MD at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences where he graduated with honors is research. He subsequently completed his surgical training in otolaryngology and head-and-neck surgery at the Medical University of South Carolina. Most recently he has pursued subspecialty training in advanced otology and neurotology at the Mayo Clinic.
